We are a virtual company with hubs in the San Francisco Bay Area, Greater Boston and Greater San Diego. All of our roles are remote at this time. It would be fantastic if candidates are located by our hubs but not a requirement. Candidates must be located in the United States.

We are seeking a driven and experienced Senior Manager, Finance who will manage the Company’s accounting operations and month-end close processes. The Senior Manager, Finance is responsible for ensuring accuracy of our accounting and financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and internal control policies. The Senior Manager, Finance will own all aspects of general ledger accounting including managing the work of other accountants. Additionally, this role will assist in the creation and maintenance of accounting policies and internal controls.  The ideal candidate will be located in the Greater San Diego.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and provide guidance to the accounting staff
  • Lead and manage the month-end close process in accordance with the monthly/quarterly close calendars
  • Responsible for all aspects of clinical trial accruals process, including creating and maintaining trackers for subject visits, investigator fees, CRO fees and pass through costs
  • Establish working relationships and maintain communications with CROs and internal Clinical Operations team to stay abreast of ongoing clinical trial activities
  • Prepare and/or review complex month-end accruals, including CMC, research, etc.
  • Prepare and/or review monthly account reconciliations
  • Review/approve/post journal entries prepared by staff
  • Prepare/review fluctuation analysis as part of month-end close
  • Assist with review/verify accounts payable transactions for consistency with the invoice, PO matching, appropriate expense period and accurate account coding.
  • Prepare/review financial statements, including BS and P&L flux analysis to support Md&A
  • Prepare and coordinate PBC schedules and support for financial and SOX audits and quarterly reviews
  • Ensure adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for establishment, operation and updating control documentation, policies and processes for financial processes
  • Manage ERP system implementation and act as the Accounting ERP functional expert
  • Support Finance Management Team, as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or business administration or equivalent
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in accounting and finance, preferably in biotech / life sciences
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Exceptional analytical problem solving and organizational skills
  • Technical accounting and strong knowledge of GAAP with ability to perform accounting research independently
  • Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Teams, QuickBooks and Bill.com. NetSuite or equivalent ERP system experience a plus
  • Experience with ERP system implementation
  • Prior experience with SOX compliance a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Proactively manages competing priorities, multi-tasks and prioritizes duties to meet deadlines
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and grow with the Company
  • Experience working with vendors, business partners and senior level managers, exercising professionalism and discretion

Salary range: $115,000- $170,000 DOE

Pardes Biosciences provides a comprehensive benefits package which includes 100% paid medical/dental/vision insurance, life and disability insurance,  401K, 10 sick days, 5 days supplemental COVID leave, parental leave, unlimited PTO, and 15 paid holidays per year.
