Accounting Manager, Accounts Payable

How you will make an impact
As an Accounting Manager, Accounts Payable you will provide oversight and management of the Procure-to-pay team including the reporting and filing requirements of this process. They ensure an accurate and timely quarter-end close, including the preparation and/or review of reconciliations and journal entries, ensuring timely payment of vendors and employees, accuracy of coding of expenses and assisting with preparation of internal financial reports.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Supervise activities, mentor direct reports, and provide technical guidance to Procure-to-Pay team
- Lead answering inquiries, training, troubleshooting, and researching, particularly around system issues
- Drive process improvements to streamline workflow
- Prepare balance sheets and P&L flux on designated general ledger accounts
- Review monthly account reconciliations and journal entries
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Minimum of BS degree in accounting with minimum 6 years of experience in Accounting including Accounts Payable and General Ledger (or equivalent combination of education/experience will be considered)
- Proven track record of working within a fast-paced, dynamic, rapid-growth environment
- Public company and SOX-compliant pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience preferred
- Experience with Great Plains, Concur, ReQLogic and Mineral Tree applications is preferred
- Solid experience in problem solving skills, analytical thinking and visionary skills necessary to grow a company are of major importance
- Experience managing staff, including remote employees
- Ability to travel 20%
