Our growing Corporate Affairs team is focused on shaping and sharing Poseida’s story with the media, investors and employees. By joining our team, you will play an integral role in driving our communications and investor relations programs forward. With your skills and experience, we will enable key audiences to better understand our novel approach to developing the next wave of cell and gene therapies. Ultimately, the goal is to raise awareness of Poseida’s science, pipeline and potential impact on patients with cancers and rare genetic disease.

Position Summary

Poseida is seeking an enthusiastic and outstanding candidate to join our growing Corporate Affairs team. The Senior Manager, Corporate Communications and Investor Relations will play a key role executing corporate strategy and in supporting the Company’s broader communications initiatives. S/he will work to ensure the company is appropriately and strategically positioned with analysts, investors, media and other internal and external stakeholders. The role will provide the opportunity to interact with the senior management team and play an important role in how the company is perceived externally. This position requires a professional that can think quickly and responsively, manages well under pressure and can recommend creative solutions to deliver key messages that will educate and influence target audiences. Experience in biotech, healthcare or pharma, specifically with familiarity with cell and gene therapies would be ideal, though critical thinkers with a background in communications and investor relations are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities: 

Corporate Communications:

  • Draft and edit communications materials including press releases, key talking points, website content and social media in order to achieve communication plan objectives
  • Work with outside consulting firms on development of original content to execute on the company's content strategy, including videos, written testimonials, bylined articles, case studies, and social content, supporting additional PR projects and campaigns as assigned
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify opportunities to generate trade press coverage surrounding key scientific publications and presentations
  • Monitor media and social media for relevant stories and provide timely recommendations on potential media response from the company
  • Support corporate communications initiatives and preparedness efforts
  • Enhance the company's profile as an attractive employer through company PR/awards strategy

Investor Relations:

  • Execute strategies and programs to keep the financial community current on company performance, goals and industry dynamics
  • Prepare and edit PowerPoint presentations and related materials for investor and media meetings
  • Maintain existing corporate and IR presentation materials and develop new materials as needed
  • Assist in tracking and maintaining the sell-side analyst consensus estimates, ratings and reports, interacting with the analyst community to provide relevant data
  • Draft and edit communications materials including press releases, key talking points, website content and social media in order to achieve communication plan objectives
  • Participate in the quarterly reporting process, including calls with management, drafting earnings releases, FAQs and Q&A documents

Internal Communications:

  • Drive internal communications, including the Intranet content strategy and supporting all hands meetings with employees
  • Manage other internal and external communication projects/plans as assigned

Requirements, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, journalism or a related field with at least 8 years of work experience in corporate communications, investor or public relations, or financial services
  • Experience in biotech, healthcare or pharma is preferred, and familiarity with cell and gene therapies is ideal
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to articulate information in a clear and concise manner, writing at different levels for varying audiences
  • Effective collaboration across multiple business functions and comfort speaking with a broad range of people, from media and reporters, to senior management and healthcare executives
  • Understanding of sensitivity around material non-public information and function of communications for a publicly traded company
  • Individual must be well-organized, a self-starter with strong attention to detail and able to manage multiple ongoing projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a dynamic, complex and fast-paced team environment
  • Content strategy for social media, basic graphics skills preferred
  • Travel may be required in the future, up to 10% of the time
  • Hybrid on-site/remote role based at our San Diego campus
