New ABFO Member Open Job Posting, Director/Sr. Director of Reporting and Planning, Lineage Cell Therapeutics

 

Lineage Cell Therapeutics, Inc. (NYSE:LCTX) is seeking a Director / Sr. Director of Reporting and Planning to manage the coordination of our SEC filings, internal financial statements, budgeting and forecasting processes, and various financial analyses.

SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Manage the preparation of SEC quarterly reports 10-Q and 10-K
  • Assist with the preparation of other SEC filings (8-Ks, offering documents, Form 4s)
  • Review Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Statement of Cash Flows and Statement of Stockholders' Equity, as applicable, on a monthly basis
  • Review or prepare quarterly workpapers to support equity compensation and other footnotes
  • Provide interpretation of GAAP and SEC rules and regulations and their effect on the business
  • Manage the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes; work with department heads to align goals with budgets and forecasts
  • Prepares monthly actuals vs. budget analysis and monthly internal financial reports
  • In connection with the head of Business Development, prepare periodic NPV calculations for clinical programs
  • Drive process improvements and innovations within the department and within the Company
  • Perform other tasks as requested, including ad-hoc analysis

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience:

  • BA/BS in Business, Accounting, or related degree; CPA preferred
  • 5+ years of work experience (combination of public accounting and industry/corporate) including at least 2 years of SEC reporting experience and 2 years supervisory/managerial experience in a publicly traded Company environment. Big 4 experience preferred
  • Biotech experience preferred


Knowledge and Skills:

  • Applied knowledge of business, accounting, and financial principles
  • Understanding of internal controls and proper supporting documentation
  • Track record of taking initiative to resolve issues
  • Ability to manage concurrent multiple projects and activities and adapt to change
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to expedite and facilitate group decision making
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence
  • Advanced working knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • Experience with ERP’s and accounting systems (Adaptive Planning experience is a plus)
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to perform technical research in areas with little or no prior experience
