Reporting to the Sr. Manager-Accounting, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of the financial statements. Reporting includes both financial reporting to management. As well as providing support to other accountants and departments as appropriate.
- Performs and monitors fundamental accounting activities to include: the preparation and review of data for input in the general ledger, the review of general ledger and subsidiary ledgers transactions to ensure accuracy and proper accounting treatment.
- Prepare journal entries including documentation for month-end, quarter-end and year-end GL close.
- Performs detailed balance sheet reconciliations monthly, assure those appropriate adjustments are made in the general ledger.
- Analysis of capital expenditures, asset tracking, and review of the asset register. Ensure that plant assets are audited annually.
- Prepare quarterly sales and use tax returns.
- Assist with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls under SOX and accounting procedures in accordance with GAAP.
- Assist in audits and reviews as required.
- Assist Accounts Payable with processing vendor invoices with proper GL coding and approvals.
- Reviews and prepares supporting work papers and schedules in support of the annual audit.
- Provides division accounting assistance in inventory reporting, purchase price variance analysis, invoicing calculation for assembly customers.
- Assists with in-depth special studies as required and other duties assigned.
- Assist with preparing schedules for income tax, property tax and research & development credits.
- Assist with preparation of various internal and external financial statements.
- Assist with implementation of various financial systems and special projects
Requirements.
- 3-8 years’ experience and exposure to GL Accounting and advanced excel skills.
- Requires Bachelors degree with an emphasis in accounting preferred.
- CPA, CMA and/or Accounting firm experience strongly preferred.
- Start up, manufacturing, and public company experience strongly preferred.
- You will need excellent Excel skills, general IT systems knowledge (NAV/Microsoft Dynamics, Business Central, PowerPoint and word.
- Strong analytical capabilities.
