Senior Manager, Financial Reporting
Poseida Therapeutics is seeking an exceptional Senior Manager, Financial Reporting who will be responsible for preparing and reviewing all SEC filings to provide timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with SEC regulations. This role reports to the Vice President, Finance and will lead internal and external financial reporting function and ensure that accounting is compliant with all company quality standards and regulations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare financial statements and related footnotes, as required, including Form 10K and 10Q to be filed with the SEC
  • Responsible for internal monthly financial reporting, including preparation of consolidated financial statements for leadership team and BOD
  • Research and analyze technical accounting and financial reporting issues, assess impact to organization, formalize positions and recommendations, and write white-papers to support conclusion
  • Stay current on all new accounting literature, SEC rules and regulations, coordinating implementation as appropriate
  • Interface with external auditors, including preparation of audit schedules and respond to auditor inquiries, ensuring any audit issues are resolved in a timely manner
  • Prepare, publish and maintain a formal calendar/time-line of events associated with all filings including reviews by internal personnel, disclosure committee, and the audit committee of the board of directors
  • Assess internal control environment and initiate implementation of new structure to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley
  • Support accounting for all equity activity, including stock-based compensation expense and EPS
  • Coordinate financial reporting related to tax compliance and tax provision support
  • Engage and coordinate the work of various service providers as needed
  • Manage and complete special projects as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting
  • Progressive experience in publicly traded companies
  • CPA and Public Accounting experience preferred
  • Experience with SEC reporting tools/platforms such Active Disclosure or Workiva
  • Strong technical understanding of accounting and auditing regulations
  • Ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, proactive and able to quickly adapt to change
