The Association of Bioscience Financial Officers (ABFO)Â is a national networking group for biotechnology, med tech and bioscience financial officers. Started in the SF Bay Area in 1989, we’re a place to exchange information and ideas, form support networks and gather for education and friendship.
ABFO regional chapters serve biotech financial officers across the United States and Canada. Our chapters are located in areas with large numbers of biotechnology companies. ABFO chapters are independent but work together every year to plan and execute our annual ABFO National Conference for three days of education, networking and fun. All bioscience financial officers, regardless of ABFO membership, are invited to attend our National Conference, the premier national conference for bioscience financial officers.
About ABFO
ABFO Membership is available through the local ABFO chapter closest to you.
Bioscience/Biotechnology/Med Device companies can join ABFO. ABFO members should hold senior financial positions, such as Chief Financial Officer, VP Finance, or equivalent. However, we welcome the participation of additional member company staff at ABFO activities and functions.

Service providers are not eligible for ABFO membership. Their attendance at ABFO events is subject to ABFO Board approval.
Some chapters may charge a membership fee to cover costs associated with chapter activities.
