Job Description:

The Controller is a CPA and the senior-most member of the accounting team and trusted partner of the CFO. He/she will be responsible for all accounting and financial reporting activities including optimizing the close process, strengthening and maintaining internal controls in a SOX-compliant manner, and managing key relationships with external accounting and audit service providers. The successful candidate will have public biotech company experience with the ability to prepare the company for IPO and SEC reporting requirements.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting of Eureka’s financial statements under GAAP.
  • Develop new and improve existing financial policies, procedures and controls to support growth, including SOX-compliance. Initially to include selection and oversight of vendor providing internal audit function.
  • Stay abreast of key technical accounting pronouncements, analyze risks and benefits, and manage the adoption.
  • Oversee external reporting process to ensure timely SEC filings, including coordinating with key executives, audit firm, and legal.
  • Review contracts and agreements and identify areas with potentially complex accounting treatment.
  • Lead, mentor and grow a dedicated team of finance professionals.
  • Monitor the company’s tax reporting and filing requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned


Position Requirements & Experience:

  • Bachelors or Master’s in Finance, Accounting or Business. CPA required.

Candidate should be comfortable in a fast-paced environment, able to adjust workload based upon changing-priorities and willing to take additional responsibilities outside of initial job description.
