What You Will Contribute To Altos

As a member of the Finance Team, the Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for processing vendor invoices in the Accounting System. The role supports full cycle accounts payable activities for the Company and includes coordinating with our vendors, employees, and the procurement team across our organization, assisting with monthly accruals, and managing our Concur T&E and credit card programs.

  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
  • Review and submit invoices for processing in the accounting system.
  • Reconcile vendor statements, which includes researching and correcting discrepancies where applicable.
  • Partner with the Procurement team to maintain Purchase Orders in the Accounting System.
  • Partner with members of the accounting team to ensure vendors are paid timely.
  • Maintain accurate files and thorough documentation.
  • Lead the preparation of annual 1099 reports.
  • Assist with month-end closing by preparing AP accruals and the AP account reconciliation.
  • Assist with ERP Implementation.
  • Manage Concur Time & Expense activities and corporate credit card administration activities.
  • Identify, track, and properly account for prepaid expenses.
  • Assist with accounting process improvements.
  • Maintain Desktop Procedures related to the areas of responsibility.
  • Provide ad hoc reporting and assistance with projects as needed.
Who You Are

  • Minimum 5 years of Accounts Payable experience.
  • Experience using an integrated accounting system.
  • Full understanding of the A/P and PO processing cycle.
  • Highly proficient with Adobe and Microsoft Office applications including Excel.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing to the team.
  • Customer service attitude with excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact effectively with management, peers, cross-functional teams and business partners that are on-site and in different locales.
  • Attentive to accuracy and detail, strong belief in personal responsibility and accountability, ability to problem solve and find solutions.
  • Adaptable to changing priorities, high-volume and a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite,, etc.
  • Experience working in the biotech, pharmaceutical or related industry.
  • Experience working in a start-up environment.
