We are integrating human genetics and functional genomics to decode the mysteries of genetic modifiers, leading us to new medicines we’ll develop for a range of severe diseases.

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant who will be part of a dynamic finance team to guide the growth of the company. Reporting to the Associate Director, Accounting, this is a unique opportunity to join a high-profile company in a growth phase. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational accounting, including and not limited to, general ledger transactions and process improvements. The Senior Accountant will work to implement and refine processes and tools for efficient and accurate accounting for company scale up. The role is highly collaborational requiring the ability to interface with scientific teams and business partners to strongly represent accounting.

Your Role in Navigating the Maze:

  • Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close procedures, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and daily cash postings
  • Manage lease accounting reconciliations and entries
  • Manage fixed asset reconciliation and entries
  • Manage prepaid reconciliation and entries
  • Participate in special projects and perform other related duties as assigned
  • Engage in continuous improvement of accounting procedures and process for company scale up
  • Serve as accounting business partner to various functions

Your Navigation Tools:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in an accounting role, preferably in biotech. Experience in a small company growth environment is a plus
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and experience with SEC regulations
  • Accounting ERP system experience, preferably NetSuite
  • Experience using Coupa, or similar procurement system
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Organized and strong attention to detail with an ability to simultaneously research discrepancies and solve problems
  • Strong business intelligence and ability to proactively identify challenges
  • Effective communicator with good verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work independently with direction and guidance
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in an ever-changing environment
