New ABFO Member Company Open Job Posting, Accounting Manager/Bolt Biotherapeutics


The Position:

Reporting to the Assistant Controller, this energetic self-starter will serve as the operational accounting lead for the Company. The successful candidate will handle a variety of monthly and quarterly close tasks, enhance the current close process to support a newly public company, as well as ad hoc projects. This role will be very hands on.

The Accounting Manager must at all times act and conduct company business in an honest, ethical and strictly legal manner, complying with company policies and all applicable laws and regulations.


  • Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for cash, prepaid expenses fixed assets, other assets, certain G&A and R&D accruals, and others
  • Assist with the monthly and quarterly financial statement flux analysis (Balance Sheet and Income Statement)
  • Assist with the analysis of the monthly and quarterly department spending to ensure correct GL account and department coding as well as for accrual purposes
  • Prepare IT and facilities allocations
  • Preparer of balance sheet account reconciliations for general ledger accounts using FloQast
  • Optimize NetSuite accounting functionality via automation, scheduled entries, and analysis reports
  • Assist with the preparation and management of the annual SOX planning process as well as the risk assessment of internal controls over financial reporting
  • Assist with the documentation, implementation, and maintenance of corporate accounting policies and procedures
  • Guide accounts payable team on GL coding, research, payment inquiries
  • Transition external accounting consultants’ duties and workpapers to this position
  • Build cross-functional relationships and answer accounting process questions to fellow employees
  • Support external auditor requests
  • Other tasks as requested

  • BA/BS in Accounting
  • Public company experience required
  • 5-7 years of accounting experience required
  • Research and development accounting experience preferred
  • CPA preferred
  • NetSuite experience a plus
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
