PURPOSE OF JOB:

FP&A at Intersect ENT is a highly important, highly visible function responsible for delivering mission-critical analytics and insights to leadership and key stakeholders. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will provide business partnering, data analytics and track business performance. Key to success in this role is ability to demonstrate attention to detail, have a strong analytic mindset, comfort with modeling and curiosity to learn.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Will manage processes such as the monthly sales/revenue analysis and forecast process that includes explaining variances to plan, providing insight on current and expected trends, and identifying areas of risk and opportunities for both medical device and pharmaceutical product.
  • Develop and maintain monthly business review package, including models and PowerPoint slides, to be reviewed with cross-functional and executive stakeholders.
  • Support the annual, strategic, and long-range financial planning processes and drive improvements in efficiency, accuracy, and transparency.
  • Provide financial modeling, analysis and decision support for key initiatives/decisions to help evaluate and prioritize growth and other strategic initiatives and support timely decision making by the business.
  • Continuously improve our Long Range Plan with a keen sense of interrelation between the financial statements
  • Perform in-depth financial analysis for trends in revenues, costs, pricing, and profitability.
  • Lead the development of dashboard reports to present to the Executive Leadership and the Board.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of FP&A processes and systems.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • 8 years’ experience in FP&A, Investment Banking, Venture Capital or an analytic field
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics or other analytical area of study. MBA preferred.
  • Ability to drive typical FP&A activities including budgeting, rolling forecasts and monthly variance reporting
  • Ability to effectively story tell using graphs and reports. Experience with data analytic tools (SQL queries etc.) to draw insight and visualization tools (e.g. Microsoft Power BI) can be helpful.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills. Experience in use of a cloud based FP&A tool
  • Outstanding problem solving and strong analytic capability with ability to develop scalable yet simple financial models
  • Comfort working with ambiguity and developing driver based business models that can be used to engage with stakeholders

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to present to senior leadership and prepare high quality executive and board slides
  • Demonstrated success in prior roles through promotion and increased scope of responsibilities
  • Exceptional presentation and writing skills and the ability to convey a message that is understandable and relevant, linking business issues, financial results, and strategy.
  • Skilled at persuading and influencing a broad spectrum of constituents at all levels, including senior management.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS, VISUAL ACTIVITY, AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Physical Activity - Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Fingering: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling. Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.
  • Physical Requirements - Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
  • Visual Acuity - The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
  • Working Conditions - The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (as in typical office or administrative work).
