Position Description:

The Accounting Manager, reporting to the Controller, VP Finance, is a “hands-on” position with direct responsibility for ShouTi’s daily accounting and payroll operations, as well as month and quarter-end closing.  This position will work with the internal finance team and external team (auditors, tax, etc.) and will be responsible for execution and review of core accounting functions.  This position will also assist the Controller, VP Finance with the monitoring of all accounting transactions occurring in Shanghai ShouTi, ShouTi Hong Kong, Ltd and the intercompany service agreements between the entities. ShouTi Inc currently has three Delaware corporation sister companies which also have intercompany service agreements which this position will assist the Controller, VP with. In addition, you will develop and maintain positive, effective working relationships with Shanghai ShouTi personnel and other business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up wire & ACH payments and review check runs
  • Prepare or review all accounting journal entries and account reconciliations for accuracy and completeness, maintaining GAAP compliance
  • Manage accounting close calendar deadlines to ensure objective are met
  • Review all new hire and payroll processing functions, including new hire setup, and terminations
  • Prepare annual W-2’s and 1099’s
  • Participate and support the maintenance of Sarbanes-Oxley internal control requirements
  • Support annual audits and quarterly reviews from external auditors
  • Monitor bank and investment balances, prepare bank account reconciliations
  • Support and suggest NetSuite EPR enhancements and internal control processes
  • Maintain NetSuite ERP Purchase Order System for proper coding, quote support, signature authorities, and general ledge coding
  • Prepare and analyze quarterly intercompany service agreement billing for ShouTi, Inc, Shanghai Shouti, Annapurna Bio, Inc. (sister company), Gasherbrum Bio, Inc. (sister company), Lhotse Bio Inc. (sister company)
  • Assist in preparing the company for IPO readiness with system and internal compliance, GAAP accounting, and Sarbanes Oxley compliance
  • Special ad-hoc projects, as needed

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 8 plus years experience, CPA or CPA candidate preferred
  • Expertise using NetSuite ERP System and accounting for international subsidiaries
  • Advanced capability with Excel/MS Office
  • Biotechnology industry preferred
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and SOX 404 Compliance
  • Solid experience helping to coordinate financial book closings, audits, and financial statement preparation
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically about the role of finance and accounting in supporting the company’s strategy and goals
  • The ability to work collaboratively with internal and external professionals including attorneys, consultants, and due diligence teams.
  • Highly organized and analytical with ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in an environment with continued process improvement and change
  • Highly self-motivated and directed
  • Highly effective working cross- functionally and in a highly collaborative team environment
