The Senior Accountant will have a critical role in maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure the timely/accurate preparation of financial statements. The Senior Accountant is responsible for preparation of journal entries and financial statement analysis to support key monthly deliverables. Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to analyzing, recording, and reconciling accounting transactions to support internal and external financial reporting.  Additionally, this individual will routinely partner with others across multiple functions ensuring proper alignment with policies, controls and compliance with US GAAP. This position reports to the Assistant Controller and is based in Emeryville, CA.  

 Responsibilities:

  • Supports preparation of monthly financial statements and other reports for key stakeholders and management; 
  • Execution of month-end close activities including journal entry preparation, analysis, and reconciliation of assigned general ledger accounts, including but not limited to cash, prepaids, inventory, fixed assets, and accruals;
  • Supports accurate accounting of inventory related transactions, prepare and review on hand reconciliations, and coordinate annual physical inventory counts;
  • Preparation of value-add financial statement trend/flux analysis commentaries for areas of responsibility;
  • Leads recurring quarterly review meetings with assigned business groups to review period to date expenses and purchase order status to identify accruals for areas of responsibility;
  • Supports and lead team initiatives to streamline and improve processes;
  • Ensures internal controls and processes are maintained appropriately or remediated as needed
  • Supports the finance and accounting team on ad-hoc requests;
  • Prepares audit and tax schedules and responds to auditor inquiries;
  • Complies with corporate policies and procedures, as well as, US healthcare laws and regulations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in accounting or finance;
  • 5+ years total relevant experience including hands-on accounting roles of mid to large size controls focused companies;
  • Mix of public accounting and industry experience;
  • Excellent knowledge and application of US GAAP, CPA a plus;
  • Knowledge of inventory and manufacturing accounting a plus;
  • Highly proficient in Excel;
  • Experience with accounting ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics 365 for operations a plus;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with multiple functional areas in a collaborative, team environment;
  • Successful experience in fast-paced entrepreneurial environment;
  • Fit with Adamas culture and values.
