Responsibilities:

  • Lead tax provision and ASC 740 accounting cycle, including footnotes, disclosures, permanent/temporary differences, discrete items, rate reconciliation, inventory of deferred assets/liabilities, taxes payable, valuation allowances, tax rates, return-to-provision adjustments, tax provision memos, tax journal entries as well as coordination with external auditors.
  • Determine tax reserves (FIN 48 & FAS 5) and related disclosures with respect to U.S. operations, including monitoring the tax environment to ensure that the tax reserves are reasonable and lead any voluntary disclosures that may be required.
  • Responsible for review of all tax filings prepared by our third-party tax firm (Federal and states where nexus has been established) and tax compliance, including the tax’s SOX compliance.
  • Lead the implementation of state tax planning structure and associated transfer pricing documentation and intercompany agreements to support the tax structure.
  • Research and implement other tax planning strategies, credit and incentive opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain tax compliance through nexus analysis and expanded filings.
  • Coordinate and manage the VAT (value added tax) filings and compliance with the third party vendors (e.g., outside VAT tax advisors).
  • Provide forecasts and guidance regarding future effective tax rates and cash taxes.
  • Build and foster strong cross-functional relationships within and outside of tax department.
  • Responsible in maintaining the on-going studies (e.g., R&D tax credit, section 382 analysis, nexus studies)

Requirements:

  • 12+ years of experience in Big 4 accounting firm and/or multinational publicly listed company
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience is required.
  • Authoritative knowledge of US tax laws and regulations and capability of application in new situations
  • Strong knowledge of state and local corporate income and sales/use tax
  • Extensive experience and proficiency of US GAAP accounting for taxes and internal controls
  • Proven track record of building, developing and improving establish processes
  • Experience with tax software, and system implementation is a plus
  • Strong post-US tax reform technical skills including GILTI, BEAT, FTC, etc.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks, prioritizing and adhering to tight timelines
  • Ability to get things done and comfortable with fast changing environments
