The Opportunity

At insitro, we are combining human biology and machine learning to discover and develop new therapeutics. This strategy requires a seamless, robust, and effective operation that simultaneously spans multiple projects, some partnered and some in-house. 

We are seeking a Senior AP Specialist to join our growing Accounting Team.  In this role, you will be performing full-cycle accounts payable in a fast-paced environment while ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.  You will have the opportunity to work cross-functionally and support our scientists, engineers, and operational colleagues. Further, you will assist with implementing accounts payable system tools to streamline and scale our rapid company growth.  

Your primary duties will be:

  • Process and code vendor invoices for three-way matching of tangible goods and two-way matching for service invoices to the proper accounting period

  • Ensure proper approval of invoice in compliance with our purchase authorization matrix

  • Administor routing of purchase requisitions, manage purchase orders and receiving

  • Monitor the Accounting inbox to ensure that all invoices and other vendor communications are properly and timely addressed

  • Prepare and perform weekly and adhoc electronic payments in

  • Ensure W-9s are obtained and assist with 1099 filings

  • Accrue use tax and ensure compliance with all IRS regulations

  • Assist with monthly accounts payable close including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations

  • Assist with expense reporting system and ERP implementation related to procure to pay modules 

  • Assist with financial audits

  • Maintain accounts payable procedures and assist with process improvements

  • Assist with other ad-hoc requests and duties as assigned

About You

  • Bachelor degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience preferably in biotech or technology

  • Accounting ERP system experience, preferably in Netsuite or similar

  • Experience using and expense reporting systems or similar

  • Intermediate Excel skills and ability to work in G-Suite

  • Organized and strong attention to detail 

  • Customer service oriented with good verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision and as part of a team

  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in an ever changing environment
