Sr. Manager, SEC Reporting, Technical Accounting and Controls

The Sr. Manager, SEC Reporting, Technical Accounting and Controls will report to the Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer. Responsible for external (SEC) reporting, technical analysis and implementation of significant accounting policies to ensure compliance with US GAAP and SOX 404.  This position coordinates filing documents and serves as liaison for disclosure to Investor Relations, Legal and Corporate Development. 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the drafting of SEC reports in compliance with all SEC and US GAAP requirements.
  • Coordinate and manage all aspects of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance requirements, including scope setting, implementation of updated controls, and the execution of the control testing.
  • Research, evaluate, and document technical accounting and external-reporting implications of complex and non-standard transactions and effectively communicate requirements.
  • Maintain, update, and evaluate significant accounting policies.
  • Prepare the financial press releases and assist in review of financial scripts.
  • Work collaboratively with various business partners to ensure reporting timelines are met.
  • Assist with preparation and review of tax provision and tax returns.
  • Other duties and special projects and opportunities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Excellent knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations.
  • CPA, with five years of professional accounting experience, preferably in the biopharma industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to research, design and implement solutions on complex accounting topics.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with both external and internal partners.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
