Sonia Nath

Sonia is an experienced, solution-oriented attorney who served for almost 12 years at the FDA’s Office of the Chief Counsel. During her tenure at FDA, Sonia gained subject matter experience across the gamut of FDA-regulated products, including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, conventional foods, dietary supplements, OTC drugs, animal drugs and biologics, and advised agency personnel on responses to industry non-compliance. At FDA, Sonia negotiated dozens of civil consent decrees for the government, including the first FDA consent decree involving a REMS drug. She defended the FDA in lawsuits brought by industry under the Administrative Procedure Act and the Freedom of Information Act, and also handled False Claims Act litigation for the agency. Sonia most recently assisted with criminal prosecutions involving a wide variety of FDA-regulated products in her appointed role as Special Assistant United States Attorney (SAUSA) with the US Attorney’s Office in the Central District of California.

While at the FDA, Sonia received the Award of Merit (the agency’s highest recognition), the Commissioner’s Award and the Outstanding Service Award.

Sonia is a former federal law clerk to the Honorable Roger W. Titus and a former leading large law firm associate with experience handling corporate transactions, internal investigations, healthcare regulatory matters and complex litigation. Prior to law school, Sonia was a senior strategy and change management consultant at PwC and IBM where she supervised consulting teams, led focus groups and devised and implemented organizational strategy solutions for clients.
