Phillip McGill

Phillip McGill represents clients on corporate and securities law matters with an emphasis on public company representation. He regularly advises public companies on complex public offerings and private placements, SEC and securities exchange reporting and compliance, corporate governance issues and strategic transactions. Private companies rely on him for his experience in guiding clients through formation and various stages of financing with a view towards preparing for strategic transactions and initial public offerings. Phil counsels clients in diverse industries, including agriculture, biotechnology, financial services, healthcare, information technology, medical device and software.

Before joining Cooley, Phil assisted strategic and private equity clients with corporate tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions in the tax services group of PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Phil has been recognized as a Rising Star by San Diego Super Lawyers each year since 2017.
