Tom Mantione

Tom is a Managing Director in Ernst & Young LLP’s Bay Area Assurance Practice and has more than 16 years of experience serving both public and private commercial and pre-commercial life sciences companies.

Tom has extensive experience serving biotechnology, pharmaceutical and laboratory service companies along with contract manufacturers and medical device entities. His transactional experience includes pharmaceutical product commercialization, collaboration and license agreements, insurance and government reimbursement in laboratory environments, contract manufacturing arrangements, gross to net revenue recognition, asset acquisitions, debt and equity transactions and research and development agreements.

Tom joined the Bay Area life science audit practice in 2019 following a two-year assignment as a Professional Practice, Audit resident from 2017–2019, where he focused upon PCAOB standard setting and developing audit methodology, training and enablement for recently adopted accounting standards. Tom previously worked for 12 years in the EY San Diego office primarily serving life science companies.

Tom’s current and past clients include Myovant Sciences, Calithera, Protagonist, Neogene, Mission Bio, Quidel, Zogenix, Otonomy, Halozyme Therapeutics, Sequenom, Genoptix, Prometheus Laboratories, Epic Sciences, Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Santarus, SkinMedica, aTyr Pharma, ViaCyte and Vical.

Tom is a CPA in California and Virginia and a member of the AICPA, the California Society of CPAs and Virginia Society of CPAs. Tom graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Accountancy from the University of San Diego.
