Kevin Jacobsen

Kevin Jacobsen is an Executive Director in the Advisory Services practice of Ernst & Young LLP. He is the National Insider Threat coordinating leader. This group assists clients in responding to and/or mitigating cyber and security incidents, as well as developing and implementing comprehensive insider risk and threat management programs. Kevin consults with US federal law enforcement agency directors, government regulators, key executives of Fortune 100 companies, Fortune 500 C-Suite officials, and Boards of Directors from across industry sectors on matters of cyber security and investigations.

Prior to joining EY in 2014, Kevin served thirty-four years in the US Air Force, retiring at the permanent rank of Brigadier General. He has spent the majority of his military career as a special agent of the Air Force Office of Special Investigations where he conducted and supervised felony-level criminal, fraud, cyber, counterintelligence, and counterterrorism investigations and operations. He has served in the Office of the Secretary of the Air Force, Office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and the Office of the Secretary of Defense, at the Pentagon. His military career culminated as the Commanding General of the US Air Force Office of Special Investigations; the US Air Force’s world-wide federal law enforcement and investigative agency, operating at over 265 locations around the globe. Kevin also was the oversight official responsible for the Defense Cyber Crime Center; the Department of Defense’s most advanced capability to confront cyber threats. The Center is an IT/Information Assurance leader supporting major investigative and intelligence clients, which deliver high-end multimedia forensics lab services; research, development, cyber training, testing and evaluation, analytics, and intrusion forensics.

Kevin’s skills have been acknowledged through various speaking invitations from the media, interagency, and international forums. He briefed White House staff, senior Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, and US Intelligence community officials, and provided expert testimony and briefings to Congress on criminal, fraud, security, and cyber investigative matters.
